Little Buckeye Children’s Museum Named “Institution of the Year”

The Ohio Museum Association (OMA) awarded Little Buckeye Children’s Museum (LBCM) their highest honor for museums in the state of Ohio: Institution of the Year.

“It is thrilling and humbling to receive such a prestigious award from the Ohio Museum Association! We have experienced tremendous growth in the past two years with new exhibits and over 50,000 visitors yearly to the museum,” says Fred Boll, Executive Director of Little Buckeye Children’s Museum.

This statewide award recognizes outstanding institutional accomplishments in the field of Ohio museums. LBCM was chosen for this award out of all OMA members, which includes the Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame, COSI, Duke Energy Children’s Museum, Cleveland Art Institute, and many more! “It is an astounding honor and a privilege to be included amongst the biggest and the best museums in the state,” says Jason Guilliams, LBCM Board President.

Little Buckeye has been a leader in the revitalization of downtown Mansfield by adding over $2.5 million in yearly economic impact.

About Little Buckeye Children’s Museum

The Little Buckeye Children’s Museum is a hands-on children’s museum located in downtown Mansfield with 28 interactive exhibits.

At Little Buckeye we understand that today’s kids simply do not have the play opportunities many of us had growing up. They don’t climb trees, jump in creeks and run around in neighborhoods. The world has changed. At Little Buckeye Children’s Museum, we provide the neighborhood, the tree to climb and the water to play in.

The passion fueling our mission is founded on the belief that exploration and play are critical to child development, imagination, and creativity. Play benefits children socially, emotionally, and intellectually! At Little Buckeye, we know that not every child gets the opportunity to play in a safe and creative environment. We are proud to provide this opportunity.
