Why Was the Power Out in Lexington?

Officials at AEP Ohio say a problem at a sub station was the apparent cause of a power outage that left more than 2-thousand Richland County residents in the Lexington area without power for most of Sunday afternoon. AEP reported the outage started around 1pm Sunday and was centered near Owens Road, between West Cook Road and West Hanley Road on Lexington-Springmill Road South. The outage stretched from near the intersection of Marion Avenue Road North and Millsboro West Road southeast to near the intersection of Ohio 97 and Vanderbilt Road. Most customers had their power restored by Sunday evening.
