Richland County Sheriff’s Office only 5th in Ohio to get prestigious accomplishment

The Richland County Sheriff’s Office has been awarded the Commission of Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies.  This makes the Richland County Sheriff’s Office only the 5th Sheriff’s Office in the State of Ohio to be accredited and we are very proud of this prestigious accomplishment.

The Richland County Sheriff’s Law Enforcement Accreditation represents the satisfactory completion of a continuous process of thorough agency wide self-evaluation, concluded by an outside review by a team of independent assessors.

It also represents our agency’s ongoing acceptance of the obligation to continue to quest for professional excellence.

Sheriff J. Steve Sheldon, Major Joe Masi and Accreditation Manager Richard Schuller attended a hearing in front of the commission to answer questions about policy and procedures and to speak about our agency.

Sheriff Sheldon commends all the employees of the Richland County Sheriff’s Office for demonstrating their commitment to professional standards in policy and practice.
