Highway Patrol Investigating Crash on US 30 and 71

The Highway Patrol is investigating a serious two car injury crash that occurred Sunday on US 30. The crash occurred when a 2007 blue Chevrolet trailblazer driven by Crystal Beaston age 19 of Saint Helen MI. failed to yield from a stop sign after exiting from IR 71 northbound to US 30 westbound. Ms. Beaston traveled into the eastbound lanes on US 30 and was struck by a 2004 blue Chevrolet Tahoe driven by Tracy McMillen age 61 of Perrysville Oh.


Ms. Beaston was transported to Ohio Health Mansfield with severe injuries. Her passenger Robert Emery Jr. age 30 also of Saint Helen MI. was also transported with non-life threatening injuries.

Susan McMillen age 60 was a passenger in unit 2. She sustained non-life threatening injuries and was also transported to Ohio Health Mansfield for treatment.

Mifflin Fire and EMS assisted on scene. ODOT assisted with traffic control and road clean up. One lane of eastbound US 30 was closed during the initial investigation and is now re-opened.

All occupants of both vehicles were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash. Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash. The crash continues to be under investigation at this time.
