Ontario City Council has voted to fund 50% of the money for a Drug Counselor at Ontario High School.

The deal is part of a matching fund that will see the School District pick up the other half of the salary.  The total cost for the City of Ontario is $30,000.  City Councilman Mark Weidemyre says that this is something that the City used to fund before they had to make some cuts due to revenue.Weidemyre says now that revenue has bounced back, it feels it is an important thing to fund.  Weidemyre says that the Drug Counselor job used to be a part time position.
