Doctor says Grate sane at time alleged murders committed: Other Doctor Needs More Time

Accused serial killer Shawn Grate, according to a doctor at the Mansfield Forensic Center, was found to be sane at the time he allegedly committed two murders last year.

RichlandSource.com reports that a ruling on Grate’s plea of not guilty by reason of insanity will have to wait longer. This is due to defense expert, Dr. John Fabian, who needs more time to wrap up his evaluation of Grate.  Fabian may need another interview with Grate before the next hearing on April 7th.

The 40 year old Grate was indicted on 23 felony counts and could face the death penalty. He sat quietly via Skype in the Ashland County Jail during Monday’s hearing.
