Richland Newhope Seeking Award Nominations for Heart Award

Richland Newhope is seeking nominations for its Hero with Heart Award. The award is given each year to at least one Richland County resident who has made a significant difference in the life of someone with a developmental disability and whose efforts have contributed to positive public awareness and understanding of persons with developmental disabilities.

This is the tenth year for the Hero with Heart award. Winners are selected by Richland Newhope’s Developmental Disabilities Awareness Committee. Past honorees were Genelle Eggerton, Bob Sliney, Bree Fellows, Emily Sheaffer, Carolyn Peugh, Dana Byrd, Tom Fesler, Dreema Brown, Domenick Danza, Melody Pangborn, Carl Ruth, Luke Yaklich, Frank Russo, Julie Craft, and Michelle Rastetter.

Nomination forms are available on the Richland Newhope website, www.rnewhope.org, and at the agency’s Administrative offices at 314 Cleveland Ave. The nomination deadline is Fri., March 6. The winner will be honored at the agency’s annual recognition banquet on May 5.

In 2016, Richland Newhope (Richland County Board of Developmental Disabilities) served more than 1,700 individuals through early intervention, preschool, adult services, residential, therapy, transportation, and other family support programs.
