179th Airlift Wing in Africa for Month Long Mission

Roughly 60 members of Mansfield's 179th Airlift Wing departed Sunday for a month long trip to Africa.  RichlandSource.com reports that the mission is to support Flintlock, which is an exercise among African, allied and US counter terrorism forces.  

The exercise will have the 179th Airlift Wing will assist in transferring supplies and personnel. The Flintlock exercise program helps African security forces protect civilian populations. Last year over 30 countries took part in the program.
