Malabar School Teacher Wins Ohio Music Educators Award

Malabar Intermediate School Orchestra Teacher Chris Japikse recently won an award at the Ohio Music Educators Convention in Cleveland. Japikse won the Outstanding Young String Award, which is given out to only 1 teacher in the entire State of Ohio.  

Japikse told RichlandSource.com that he didn't even know he was nominated for the award until he won. Japikse is in his 2nd year at Malabar and has saw his class grow from 34 students to 109, as he relates very well to his students.
