7 Bald Eagles were spotted in Crawford County in January during a bird count. The Bald Eagles were among the more than 6,800 birds counted during the 24 hour project. The count was sponsored by the Crawford County Park District and saw 57 different species of birds. RichlandSource.com reports that besides the 7 Bald Eagles, there were 2 Merlins spotted. Merlins are pretty rare in Ohio and are a Blue Jay sized Falcon. This is the first time they have been spotted in Bucyrus during the count.
