Public Boating Course OfferedĀ by Mansfield Power Squadron
Anyone new to boating and others who desire to further develop their boating and boating safety skills may
attend theĀ America's Boating Course (ABC).Ā The course is taught by a certified instructor of theĀ Mansfield
Power SquadronĀ at theĀ Madison Adult Career CenterĀ (MACC)Ā in Madison Comprehensive High School, 600 EsleyĀ Lane, Mansfield.Ā The course is scheduled to begin onĀ Tuesday,Ā January 24, 2023Ā fromĀ 6-8pm.Ā The class
will continue each Tuesday for 9-10 weeks.Ā Registration is made through MACC by callingĀ 414.589.6363
Classes can help you reduce the risk of accidents and injuries, save on boat insurance and qualify for the stateĀ boat operator certificate. This in-person class allows you toĀ seek answers to your questions while gainingĀ
knowledge of boating and boating safety.Ā Topics include:
- Boating laws (state and federal)
- Safety and safety equipment
- Finding your way safely
- Boat handling, rules of the road, navigation aids
- Anchoring, docking, knots and lines
- Trailering, boat maintenance
- Communications
- How to handle emergencies and mechanical problems and more
