Crawford County House Hit by 15 Bullets: Crestline Man Arrested in Ontario

On October 28, 2024, at 1146 Hrs. The Crawford County Sheriff’s Office received a call from 1513 Olentangy Rd. in Whetstone Twp. The property owner reported that his house had been shot several times. Deputies responded to the scene and found approximately 15 bullet holes in the residence. Deputies secured the residence and requested BCI&I to assist in processing the scene. Deputies remained on scene with BCI&I until around 2300 Hrs.

Deputies and BCI&I located several spent casings around the outside of the residence and recovered several of the bullets that were found inside the residence. While conducting the investigation Deputies were able to obtain security footage of suspects that were at the residence during the shooting.

On October 29, 2024, an arrest warrant was issued for Daniel P. Looney, age 30, of Crestline, Ohio. Daniel Looney was arrested by Ontario Police department when Deputies alerted them that Looney was in their jurisdiction. Looney was arrested without incident and transported to the Crawford County Justice Center.

Deputies also served a search warrant at Daniel Looney residence at 1034 Bibich Court in Crestline. While conducting the search warrant at the house Deputies located a seized firearms and ammunition along with electronic devices. Deputies were assisted on the scene by Crestline Police Department, Crestline Fire Department and Crawford County Dog Warden.

This case is still ongoing by the Sheriff’s Office and a report will be submitted to the Crawford County Prosecutor’s Office for consideration of addition charges against the individuals involved with this case.
