Members of the Hillsdale FFA chapter traveled to Washington D.C. to participate in the Washington Leadership Conference (WLC) in June. According to Richland Source.com, the conference inspires FFA members to become changemakers in their communities. They also had the chance to meet and learn from members of different FFA chapters nationwide.

Each day of the conference focuses on a different principle taught through the context of our nation’s capital. These principles include exploration, encouragement, advocacy, and service.

At the end of the week, members leave with a Living to Serve Plan they can implement in their communities. Through touring the city of D.C., the capitol, and visiting many important memorials, they could see first-hand what leadership is all about, and how it originated.

Members Emma Linder, Ava Bolen, Daniel Coleman, and Blake Schwan all took advantage of this opportunity and learned many new things to bring back to their chapter.

We would like to thank the Hillsdale FFA Alumni for making this rare opportunity possible for our students.
