A longtime softball event, now in its 31st year, has a new name and a new location. Formerly known as the Wendy’s Spring Classic held in Ashland, will take place this Friday and Saturday at Marshall Park in Ontario, and is now called: The Mid-Ohio Spring Classic.
Director John Davis said, the move is because of the turf infields at Marshall Park. 20 teams in total will complete, both local and some of the tops teams from across the state. The event in 30 years has provided nearly $139,000 in scholarships to area softball players.
Admission is $8 each day or $12 for both days.
