The Richland County Republican Party Central Committee has selected Jodie Schumacher to fill the unexpired term of Prosecuting Attorney.
Jodie Schumacher comes into this position with nearly 20 years of experience, working in the Prosecutor’s Offices in Wayne, Ottawa and Richland Counties. Schumacher joined the Richland County Prosecutor’s Office in 2016 as Assistant Prosecuting Attorney, in 2017 she was promoted to First Assistant Prosecuting Attorney. Upon former Prosecutor Gary Bishop’s resignation on April 14, 2023, Schumacher was appointed Acting Prosecuting Attorney by the Richland County Commissioners.
