A Mansfield firefighter was injured after responding to a call on Home Avenue.
The incident took place last Friday, April 7th, when crews arrived on scene around 1:45 am. The injury to the firefighter took place when he went into the stairwell, which had burned away in the fire. He then fell from the 2nd floor down to the basement level.
Injuries to the firefighter were moderate, where he was treated and released from the hospital. No one was living at the home at the time of the fire, which the cause remains under investigation.
