Three people were taken to the hospital, after 22 vehicles were involved in an accident, due to icy roadway conditions, at the intersection of Lexington-Springmill road and State Route 39 on Saturday night.
The Highway patrol told WMAN News, two people were injured when they got out of their car and were struck by a vehicle, which slid off the road and into a guardrail.
The crash happened just after 8 pm. 65% of the vehicles involved in the crash, had to be towed away from the scene.
