The Mapleton School Board of Education has approved making repairs to the middle school gym, which was damaged last summer by a storm.
According to RichlandSource.com, the destructive storm last June caused damage to the installation and the cost of the new roof is just shy of $800,000.
Insurance will cover most of the cost, which the district will have to pay $100,000 that will come out of the schools permanent improvement fund. The project will begin this summer and take about 8 weeks to complete.
