In Madison, the Township Trustees have given the ok to hire a half dozen part-time firefighters.
According to RichlandSource.com, this will give the department a total of 14 on staff, which as of early October they had just 8 part-time firefighters. Chief Ken Justus requested to increase the pay to $11 dollars per hour starting in January. That pay is still the lowest in the county for part-time firefighters.
