$600,000 has been donated toward the project to build a new dog shelter in Ashland County.
According to RichlandSource.com, the money will help build the new facility, which will see the work done by a local company in Simonson Construction of Ashland. The money has come from the public and the Ashland County Community Foundation.
Ashland County Commissioner Denny Bittle said the project will cost between $1.5 million and $3 million. The Commissioners plan to use some funds from the American Rescue Plan.
The new dog shelter hopes to be complete by February or March of next year and will be located on South Baney Road in Ashland.
