Mansfield City Council meets tonight and one of many items on the agenda is something that could help detect gun fire quicker. Council will vote to accept a grant of nearly $150,000 to triple the coverage of shot spotter for the Mansfield Police Department. The technology allows the PD to be alerted to gun shots in seconds rather than minutes and would increase the coverage area from 1 mile to 3 miles.
