The Richland County Veterans Service Commission is holding a dedication ceremony – on Memorial Day – at the Mansfield Cemetery.
Executive Director, Ken Estep said the Commission has been working with Purdy Construction on the Old Soldiers grounds renovation project, which ordered a headstone for 128 veterans that did not have one. They have been working on the project since 2019. The ceremony will take place at 2 pm and anyone who would like to attend is welcome.
The Memorial Day parade in Mansfield gets underway at 10:30 am at the 5 way light, which will then see the program will follow afterwards at the Gazebo downtown. The Keynote speaker – Roger Friend – past commander with the American Legion.
