Henry Street Shooting Sends 20 Year Old Mansfield Man To Hospital

The Mansfield Division of Police patrol officers responded to a ShotSpotter activation of “Shots Fired” in the area of 426 Henry Street at 3:57AM this morning. While enroute to that area, a caller advised there was a male subject on his front porch on Massa Avenue who was suffering from a gunshot wound. Once in the area, officers located the Black male victim, in his 20’s, on a porch on Massa Avenue. The victim, who was uncooperative and refused to identify himself, was transported to a local hospital by EMS personnel where he underwent emergency surgery and was left in the care of hospital staff. No further information on his condition is available at this time.

Officers, who continued to the area of the ShotSpotter activation on Henry Street were advised by witnesses who had heard the gunshots, that a female had ran into 426 Henry Street shortly after the gunshots were heard. They further advised that they had heard a loud argument, prior to the gunshots. Officers secured the area around the residence and after considerable encouragement, a female exited the residence and was detained in reference to this incident.

Major Crimes detectives responded to the scene and are in the process of executing a search warrant at the incident location. This is an active and fluid investigation and no additional details are available at this time. The area is safe at this time and this is believed to be an isolated incident.
