Crestline Youth Sports Announces Capital Campaign

After a successful 2021 season, in which over 100 kids participated between the ages of 5-12, Crestline Youth Sports (CYS) is gearing up to bring home baseball games back to Crestline for the first time in several years.

Last season, all baseball games were played in Galion due to the condition of the fields and the fields not meeting guidelines set forth by Little League. Crestline is a member of the Galion Little League District.

Improvements that need to be made include the realignment of bases to meet Little League standards, Washington Ball Mix for all fields, repairs to the bathroom facility, and repairs to the concession stand.

The total cost of the project is $15,000 and CYS has already received bids for all the work to be performed.

CYS President Clayton Herold stated, “Crestline has a rich tradition of youth baseball and softball. For home games to be played in Crestline it would be a boost for our community. The Little League complex was built in 2004 and has set idle for several years, but when we complete this project it will become one of the nicest complexes in the area and something our community can be proud of once again”.

Funds for the project are being raised with the help of the Community Foundation for Crawford County who has set up an online fundraising page. The page can be found by visiting the Crestline Youth Sports Facebook Page. Donations currently total $1,425 of the $15,000 goal.

Donations can also be sent to the Community Foundation for Crawford County by making checks payable to Projects Inc. with Crestline Youth Sports in the memo line. Checks can be mailed to 254 E. Mansfield St., Bucyrus, OH 44820.
