The city of Mansfield is getting $1 million dollars from the federal government to help those in the community who are homeless and those at risk of becoming homeless.
According to RichlandSource.com, the money is coming through the American Rescue Act from the Home Investment Partner Program. The announcement comes after several business owners and residents recently reached out to the Richland County Commissioners about increase in homeless residents in downtown Mansfield.
Officials right now are looking into the rules for exactly how the money can be used.
