The announcement of a new police chief in the city of Ashland is expected sometime this week.
Mayor Matt Miller told WMAN news Monday morning it could come in the next day or so.
Miller said the list is down to 3 candidates to fill the role following the retirement of David Marcelli, who spent 11 years as Ashland Police Chief and close to 30 years with the department.
