One of the top candidates for the Chief of Police in Ashland will not be considered for the job.
According to RichlandSource.com, the reason is because of a seniority rule, which will take an assistant district state highway patrol commander out of the running.
Ashland has received 20 applications for the job, which Mayor Matt Miller has until June 23rd to name the replacement for David Marcelli, who retired as chief earlier this month. Marcelli spent nearly 30 years with the department, the last 11 as chief.
