A project is in the works to build a new dog shelter in Ashland County.
According to RichlandSource.com, a local group and community members donated $600,000 to the county commissioners to cover a good portion of the construction costs for the new structure, which has an estimated price tag of between $750,000 and $ 1 million dollars.
The current building, which is crumbling, was built back in 1953.
