The Richland County Commissioners recently heard a proposal for an annual contract, which would provide messages to residents via text, e-mail and phone calls.
According to RichlandSource.com, the deal with Rave Mobile Safety would cost $35,000 and let Richland County residents sign up to receive messages from the Sheriff’s office and other agencies within the county.
Anything from snow emergencies to a missing person and most wanted individuals. The information would also post to the county social media pages and website, along with digital messaging boards in county buildings. Further financial details are being worked out, before a final proposal will be brought back before the Commissioners for a vote.
