ONTARIO, OH- The Humane Society of Richland County (HSRC) is looking to the community after 3 cases of heart breaking, inhumane neglect have brought in 25 animals. 9 dogs, 5 puppies and 12 cats were pulled from the 3 locations where living conditions included garbage, feces and urine.
“Cases like these will require a lot of veterinary and staff care to ensure we get these poor animals back to both physical and mental health,” stated Linda Chambers, Executive Director. “They are confused and scared. One of the dogs will not come out of her cage.”
The HSRC is a non-profit and runs 100% on donations. It is not affiliated with any other organizations or any state, local or national governments.
“We are looking to our community to help with monetary donations for vet care for the animals,” continued Chambers. “We do need newspapers, paper towels and Lysol wipes. We currently have enough food, blankets, towels and other cleaning supplies.”
The animals are still being assessed and will not be up for adoption until the possible pending cases are complete. Once ready, they will be posted on the website and Facebook page. A completed application and appointment is necessary for adoption due to current COVID restrictions.
