Mansfield Water Meter Project Update, Final And Last Notice To Be Sent Out

The city of Mansfield has provided an update on it's wide water meter replacement project.

Public Works Director David Remy said so far, 7,000 meter's have been replaced, but in total, more than 18,000 have to be replaced. That mean's, there are still 11,000 to go in the project, which will help the city financially because the old meter's , according to city council president Cliff Mears, are pumping close to 9 million gallons per day, but only billing for around 4 million.

The total cost of the project is $17 million dollars.

Residents, who have not responded to get their water meter replaced need to do so soon.

A final and last notice will be sent out within a week. A City ordinance can terminate service until arrangements are made to install the new water meter.
