The Richland County Board of Elections was busy Tuesday yesterday on the first day of early voting ahead of next month’s election.
Director Paulette Hankins said close to 400 voters cast their ballot on Tuesday before 11 am and they expect to average 600 – 1,000 early voters per day until Election day.
Hankins said by the time everything is tallied up, there will be more than 83,000 register voters in Richland County
Close to 16,000 absentee ballots were mailed out to voters on Tuesday.
