The City of Ashland has a new police officer.
Ashland mayor Matt Miller Monday swore-in Kirby Clemens, who was born in Ashland and went to the NCSC Police Academy, and received a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice from Alderson Broaddus University.
Clemens becomes the 28th member of the Ashland Police department. He will start this week with field training, which will take just over 3 months.
