Ashland City Council this week approved rezoning some property from residential to special use.
RichlandSource.com reports, this comes after Ashland University recently bought some properties on Moss Hill Drive for close to $1 million.
The purpose of rezoning the land is because the University plans to build an indoor athletic facility in that area.
AU announced those plans last month and hopes to begin work on the project in the near future.
