Richland County Commissioners To Use Cares Act Money For Recorder's Office

The Richland County Commissioners approved just shy of $612,000 on Tuesday to digitize property records in the recorder's office.

RichlandSource.com reports some of the records date by back to the 19th century. The work will be done by the company Kofile, which it's headquarters is based out of Dallas, Texas.

The project will see nearly 650,000 pages be available online. The work expected to start later this money and hopes to be done by the end of the year.

The money used for the project comes from the CARES ACT, which saw Richland County receive $2 million.
