Masks Could Become Mandatory In Richland County Due To Increase In COVID-19

An increase in local COVID-19 positive tests and hospitalizations could see masks become mandatory in Richland County later this week.

RichlandSource.com reports, County Commissioner Marilyn John said as of Tuesday morning, Richland County had 52 additional positive tests for the coronavirus and 8 additional hospitalizations.

Masks become mandatory once a county is elevated to a level 3 public health alert by the state.

Right now, Richland County is a level 2, but John said that Richland Public Health is preparing for news that the County could become a level 3, which would make masks in public places mandatory and would go into effect on Friday at 6 pm.

Ohio Governor Mike DeWine is expected to give an update on this during his Thursday afternoon press conference.
