The city of Mansfield recently has received word from the EPA that work is needed to rehab the water treatment plant. Council President Cliff Mears said the cost is $35 million dollars and the legislation could be in front of council by August. The EPA also said Mansfield needs to increase it's water rates, which has not been done in a while. Mears said a lot of the rehabilitation is related to the line to the pumping station that was clogged around the 1st of the year, which needed a bypass installed.
