The Richland County Commissioners on Tuesday, gave the approval for an additional $83,000 dollars for the project to upgrade and renovate the area's of the Sheriff department, which includes the relocation of the 9-1-1 Dispatch Center.
RichlandSource.com reports, the total cost of the project, inside of the People's Community Center, is now just over $900,000.
Richland County Sheriff Captain Jim Sweat said, this project touches the lives of every resident in Richland County.
Sweat expects the department to be moving into the new center by September. Chuck Minnich, the county's building maintainence superintendent,
said the new center should be tested and operational by the end of the year.
