The Soap Box Derby in Mansfield has been cancelled for this summer.
RichlandSource.com reports, a decision was made this week to cancel the North Central Ohio Soap Box Derby, which was scheduled for June 20th.
Derby secretary Ruth Kinsey said " the safety of the racers, families, volunteers, officials and spectators must be our top priority.
The first Mansfield area soap box derby was held back in 1936 and Kinsey says they look forward to continuing the annual event in 2021.
