Mansfield, Ohio - When Mansfield/Richland County Public Library began this journey into sheltering at home, we entered a new world of unknowns. Now that we’re looking toward the future, we’re exploring how to resume services. At the forefront of that discussion is the safety of our staff and patrons.
At this time, based on recommendations of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Richland Public Health, MRCPL will not begin reopening branch locations to the public however, will begin offering Curbside Service at all 9 branch locations on Monday, May 18.
MRCPL is excited to offer this convenient, new pick-up option for all card-holding patrons. Beginning Monday, May 18, Curbside Service will be available at all 9 MRCPL library locations. Curbside Service is an extension of the Library’s personalized services. To take advantage of this service, patrons will place their requested items “on hold” through our website or call their local branch to request items, and then, once they have received notification that items are available for pick-up, come to their local branch for curbside pick-up.
In preparation for this new service, MRCPL will begin accepting the return of all checked-out library materials beginning Monday, May 11. MRCPL, would like to encourage the return of library materials at that time so that our library materials can be put back into circulation.
Detailed information for this new service along with information on how we will be providing safe and sanitary service and materials and will soon be available on our Covid-19 webpage. Additionally, our digital resources remain available as well as many exciting services on our social media platforms. Follow MRCPL on Facebook for virtual story times, fascinating local history and much more.
Since Mansfield Richland County Public Library's opening in 1889, the first 700 books, and the first set of the Congressional Record, the library has been a source for free access to knowledge, information, and resources in Mansfield. That will never change. We are a bridge connecting people to the knowledge and resources they might not otherwise have access to. In the global and digital age, we also recognize the importance of being rooted in our community offering innovative resources, programming, and events specifically for our customers. Through our interactive website, www.mrcpl.org, we are now able to provide access to resources for our library card holders 24/7 in addition to our 9 traditional locations. MRCPL is a center for people of all ages to come together to have fun, learn, grow, craft, seek knowledge and understanding, connect, and engage!
