One Injured in Rollover Crash on US 30

Holmes Township – The Bucyrus Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a single commercial vehicle rollover crash, which occurred on U.S. 30, west of State Route 4 in Holmes Township.

On March 5, 2020, at approximately 0325 hours, a 2018 Kenworth Semi Truck and Trailer, operated by Jacob Lee Skiles, age 21, of Logansport Indiana, was traveling east bound on U.S. 30. He traveled off the left side of the roadway, overturned and struck a guard rail. The crash caused U.S. 30 west bound traffic to be closed for approximately 4 hours and U.S. 30 east bound traffic was also closed for approximately 5 hours.

Bucyrus Fire Department and Crawford County EMS responded to the scene. Mr. Skiles and his passenger, Jana T. Whittaker, age 25, of Logansport Indiana, were transported to Bucyrus Community Hospital for minor injuries. Alcohol and drugs are not suspected to be a factor in the crash.
