The Rite Aid received a bomb threat by phone and an active shooter was on the way. The Richland County Sheriff's Office was notified and responded to the store at 2:36 p.m. Tuesday afternoon. According to richlandsource.com, the Sheriff's Department met at a nearby Kroger Parking lot and approached the Rite Aid parking lot and entered the store. The store was cleared by the Sheriff's office there was no bomb found. No one has been identified in the incident and it is believed the threat was a diversion in order for a person to steal a laptop.
