Senator Sherrod Brown has announced an upcoming roundtable in his hometown of Mansfield ahead of the introduction of legislature promising resources to workers affected by the rapidly-changing technological landscape. According to RichlandSource.com, the discussion will take place at the United Steelworkers Local 169 Hall on Longview Avenue West today (Tuesday) at 11:30 a.m. Local labor organization representatives and advocates will join Senator Brown to discuss his Workers' Right to Training Act of 2019, which would require companies to provide ample notice of technology-affected employment changes, on-the-job training to affected employees, and six-month severance to those left jobless by new technology.
