A Columbus woman died Wednesday morning when she was walking on Ohio 61 and was hit by a vehicle traveling southbound. The Mt. Gilead Post of the Highway Patrol says that 34 year old Amanda Cumpton was walking with her son around 5:30 am and was struck by a vehicle, which then left the scene. RichlandSource.com reports, the Patrol is looking for a dark colored SUV or pickup truck. Amanda Cumpton was taken to Morrow County hospital, where she was pronounced dead. The woman’s son was not injured in the incident.
