Plymouth-Shiloh Local Schools are among eight Ohio school districts and two private schools will share nearly $243,000 to enhance their safety and security under an expanded safety grant program launched last year by the Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation (BWC).
Plymouth-Shiloh Local Schools are set to receive $12,217 to install 18 indoor/outdoor security cameras with accessories.
“We want to improve workplace safety across Ohio, and that’s especially important in workplaces that house and educate our children, the future of this state,” said BWC Administrator/CEO Stephanie B. McCloud.
The grants, ranging from $10,838 for a school district in Richland County to $40,000 for a district in Shelby County, are the first awarded out of $4 million BWC has slated for PK-12 safety upgrades for fiscal years 2019 and 2020. BWC announced the funding last year as a component of its $1.5 billion rebate program.
