There has been some talk in the city of Ontario about possibly building its own waste water treatment plant. Right now, Ontario has a contract with the city of Mansfield for its wastewater treatment, which will see rates rise 10% this year. A study done by a firm out of Bowling Green says Ontario could save $305,000 to $840,000 per year with its own wastewater treatment plant. RichlandSource.com reports, Ontario would pay $2.4 to $2.6 million per year with its own plant, where it would pay $2.9 to 3.3 million for service from Mansfield. Ontario Service Safety Director Jeff Wilson said the idea to build a waste water treatment plant is still in its early stages.
