The City of Ontario on Tuesday officially acquired the Generals Motors Plant property on West 4th Street. RichlandSource.com reports that just over a month ago, Ontario City Council mentioned it was hoping to acquire the 267 acre site from the Ontario Business Park by the end of 2018. Ontario mayor Randy Hutchinson said “We are excited to be in control of our destiny”. RichlandSource.com reports that three companies have already shown interest in leasing at the former GM site. One of the companies could bring 15 to 20 jobs, mayor Randy Hutchinson said the property must be cleaned up first.
