Work is underway on the new Ashland High School fieldhouse, which is hoping to be complete by August of 2019. A ground breaking ceremony was held last week for the Keith Wygant Memorial Fieldhouse, which is expected to cost about $3.5 million. Keith passed away in his sleep in 1971, right before he was set to graduate from Ashland High School. Keith’s parents, Lloyd and Norma Wygant, donated $500,000 toward the construction of the new Ashland fieldhouse. The fieldhouse will have 3 full sized basketball courts, which could also be used for tennis courts and baseball and softball areas to hit. There would be a weight room and 2nd floor for Wrestling and a possible track.
