Students in Ashland County Tuesday learned more about the tragic events from September 11th, 2001. Mapleton students heard from speaker Dan Bowles, a 1964 Mapleton grad, who was a disaster technician and helped the first responders with first aid at the World Trade Center. RichlandSource.com reports, Mapleton students had a pancake breakfast for first responders followed by the assembly. Outside Mapleton High School stands a 9/11 Memorial, which uses a beam from one of the World Trade Center buildings.
