An Ashland County woman has been sentenced to nearly 6 months in jail, after the March incident where, she left her two children alone and her 8 year old son shot his 4 year old sister. RichlandSource.com reports, 28 year old Alyssa Edwards of Hayesville will spend the next 180 days in the Ashland County Jail, with work release permitted.
Edwards came home after her son shot his 4 year old sister to check her wound and then went back to work for a couple more hours. Edwards, who also must pay $500 and court costs, said she is sorry for what she’s done and what decision she’s made. Edwards was facing up to 3 years behind bars.
